You thought paper bag tests were over? Think again. A Detroit nightclub promoter released this flyer for an upcoming party. (After a huge internet backlash, the party has been cancelled.)

Problem is...
They're not the source of shadeism, the communities where families feel blessed when their child is light, where people in search of partners give preferential treatment to light, where people tolerate light as the epitome of blackness on television and in movies...
This shit originates with systems of white domination that give preferential treatment to those who can be located as lighter, located in order to be offered privilege...
this system is maintained by the collective US not with the folks who made the flyer.
